DSP5 Switch Installation
Duramax DSP5 SOTF Switch Installation Guide
The DSP5 switch includes two wires that come pre-crimped with pins. The color of the wire doesn't matter when connecting it to the pins, but you should ensure that the following pin locations are used for each model:
-
2001-2004 LB7: Blue ECM connector
Pin #49 & Pin #69 -
2004.5-2005 LLY: ECM connector labeled J3
Pin #32 & Pin #50 -
2006-2010 LBZ/LMM: ECM connector #1 (the larger of the two)
Pin #46 & Pin #54 -
2011-2016 LML: Gray ECM connector J3
Pin #11 & Pin #35
Once the pins are inserted into the appropriate slots, reconnect the ECM and switch the ignition to the ON position. Press the small white test button located at the back of the switch. If one LED lights up, this indicates that the pins are correctly placed. If no LEDs light up, verify your wiring connections.
The DSP5 switch also comes with one nut and two washers. The smooth washer should remain at the bottom with the tab inserted into hole #5. If it becomes dislodged, turn the switch fully to the left (counterclockwise), and reposition the washer with the pin into hole #5. Then, ensure that the switch rotates exactly 4 positions clockwise. If it doesn't, loosen the nut and adjust the pin's position.
Important Notes:
- Do not cut or ground any wire pins.
- Loosen the set screw before attaching the knob to the switch.
- Only square or rectangular pins will fit one way; do not force them into place. If it’s not fitting, check the orientation of the pin.
