Pre-Installation Guidelines

READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH INSTALLATION

• USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
• These devices are intended for OFFROAD VEHICLE USE ONLY.
• Do not attempt to read the stock file using AutoCal. For stock file needs, contact your dealership for a reflash.

Installation Process

1. Connect the OBD2 cable to the AutoCal device.
2. Plug the other end into the vehicle’s OBD2 port.
3. Power on the device, navigate to the Tune menu, and press Enter.
4. Choose the Tuning option.
5. Select the Program Full option.
6. Pick the appropriate Calibration file for your AutoCal device.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.

Specific Instructions

For 2007-2012 Cummins Trucks:

Important: Make sure to install the patch file before loading the tune. Failing to do so could cause damage to the factory PCM, leading to potential issues that may require a dealership re-flash.

Cummins Specific Instructions:

• Locate the intake air throttle valve on the driver’s side of the engine bay, under the intake, by the intercooler pipe.
• Ensure to "unplug" this valve. Leaving it plugged could cause it to stick closed, resulting in issues with engine operation or RPM behavior.
• If you are unsure about the location or the unplugging process, consider seeking assistance from a professional.

Duramax Specific Instructions:

• Prior to tuning, unplug the intake air throttle valve located on the passenger side of the engine, beneath the hood, next to the alternator.
• For LML 11-16 trucks:
  • Unplug both EGR valves. The first is located on the driver's side, and the second on the passenger side.
  • Also, ensure the intake air throttle valve is unplugged. Not doing so may cause malfunctioning or failure to rev-up.
